Club - March 12

what incredible weather we have had lately!!!

how is everyone doing?

just a review of what happened at club this week:

guys & girls met for Bible study... the guys partnered up and went through a sheet fox handed out. we covered the rest of john 1. don't miss next week when we start going deeper with john, the book, not the person...

fox had some interesting activities for us monday night. everyone got to know a few other people with the "know me" game. words were flying as everyone hung out asking people their questions...

we then blended up a couple happy meals to see if anyone could beat jeremy conrad's record of chugging a mcdonald's hapy meal without flinching... jeremy's claim to fame still stands... see pictures on the yfc website http://yfcpeoria.org.

brent then got up and talked about faith. he used an example from matthew 14 when peter tries to walk on water with Jesus' help.

brief paraphrase of matthew 14: Peter and the other disciples are in a boat in the middle of a huge storm. waves are rushing everywhere and the wind is blowing like none other. the disciples then see someone coming out to them, but this figure is walking on water! the person turns out to be Jesus. peter says, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." Jesus does and peter steps out of the boat.
brent hit hard on dealing with our pain. he said that Jesus gives us a way to deal with all the crap we deal with in our lives, but we have to be willing to get out of the boat. the main point is this: Jesus didn't calm the waves before peter gets out of the boat. we have to have take a step in faith to get out of the boat and trust that Jesus will help us through our storms.

what storms are you going through?
are you sinking?
are you trusting that Jesus will keep you afloat?

think about what Jesus may be wanting you to do this week, something to stretch your faith...
